Estelle Parker Pacetti and Edward Pacetti

My mother, Estelle Pacetti, while raising six children, and while working three jobs, got her Florida real estate license and came to work with me in the real estate business. Her work ethic and commitment to her family continue to inspire me.
My father, Ed Pacetti, was a great hunter and fisherman, and loved the outdoors. He gave me a great love and respect for the land.
As a result of the positive influence on my life provided by my mother and father, I developed the determined work ethic out of necessity at a very young age because we grew up in the 1940s and we did not have the amenities and conveniences we take for granted today, such as electricity and in-door plumbing. I therefore have worked consistently all my life. Our dad taught us the benefits of catching shiners (a bait fish) that my brothers and I caught in the St. Johns River and sold to the weekend bass fishermen. He also taught us to become commercial fishermen catching and selling catfish as a method of providing our own school clothes and spending money. I have worked in an auto repair shop; on diesel engines; grading and loading potatoes; in the gladiolus fields in the morning before school and in the evening delivering to the Jacksonville airport for shipment; working on the railroad as a diesel engine mechanic; and at Fairchild Industries as an aircraft mechanic, selling pest control service; selling insurance door-to-door. In 1965, I got my Florida license to sell real estate. I went to work with Mr. Ed Overby who to this day I credit with being a huge mentor in my real estate career. He taught and trained me to make a good living in the real estate business by practicing the fundamentals and basics of real estate and mortgage financing. In 1966, I opened my first real estate office in Palatka, Florida, with my brother Roland Pacetti. I was 26 years old, married, with a small son, Chuck, who was born November 20, 1963. A year later, I opened my real estate office in St. Augustine, Florida. The name of the company was, and is today, Pacetti Realty Company, Inc., now trading as HomeStar Pacetti Realty Network. In 1968, my mother, Estelle Pacetti, at age 55, came to work with us in the real estate office, got her Florida real estate sales license and not long after that she studied for and got her Florida real estate broker license. She became a successful and respected real estate professional in St. Johns County.
