Why the Real Estate business?

The real estate industry is alive and well, even though we are going through a major adjustment. Someone once said that with every adversity comes the seed of an equal or greater opportunity. The real estate industry is resilient and has been the vehicle used to catapult a majority of the millionaires in this country to the levels of wealth they achieved. After spending a lifetime, 43 years to be exact, in various specialties in the real estate industry and the learning curve which the real estate industry has provided, some of the lessons that we learned that have served us well are: #1 education in the chosen specialty is essential; #2 adjusting to the market (as the market adjusts); #3 developing the knowledge and the skills to be flexible during these times; #4 learning from others so that our entire training does not come from the school of hard knocks; #5 financial planning (not just buying and selling a house) is essential; #6 a full understanding of exactly what we want from the business and how to achieve that goal; #7 becoming professional by achieving all licensing and joining all trade institutions that provide you with current up-to-date training and information that provide you with the best opportunity to reach your stated written goals, such as real estate licenses, becoming a realtor, accessing multiple listing services, up-to-date economic forecasts by the leaders in the industry, mortgage broker licenses which allow you to be current on all local and national trends that affect the mortgage availability and costs, as well as access to information regarding all of the government grant programs that will assist your potential buyers to achieve access to financing by taking advantage of the 0 down programs that provide for down payment and closing costs assistance (which in the state of Florida can be as high as $40,000 to $70,000 on new homes); #8 practicing the highest degree of ethics, and compassion for others are essential ingredients of character are necessary for any long-term success; #9 striving for excellence is our admission that we need continuous encouragement because we have not reached our potential, but we realize the necessity to continue to set high standards for ourselves and those around us; #10 dreams and goals--in a world that allows each of us to set our own standard for our life, which we call our dream, can be achieved by establishing a series of goals, much like a ladder but can only be achieved by taking one step up at a time, each step representing a method of measuring our accomplishments or achieving a particular goal on our journey to our dream. As our knowledge and experience increase, our ability to dream larger dreams and set higher standards will require that we continuously set new goals for the things we want to achieve in our life. The real estate industry will allow you to have huge dreams and great goals as you climb the ladder of success for you and your family. The ten steps we introduced here will be discussed in a series over the next few weeks. We look forward to your input, your questions, your experiences. Things open for discusssion in the future: Real estate, real estate business, real estate industry as career, foreclosures, Florida real estate, auctions, Terry W. Pacetti, tax deeds, bankruptcies, discounted notes, short sales, short pays, 0 down, government grants, down payment assistance, cash out closings, reverse mortgages, no credit, no cash
